About the event
Throughout April, Arbor Lodge will host an exhibit highlighting the history of tree planting in America. The display will call special attention to the history of Arbor Day and its spread throughout the world. Guests will also learn what varieties the Morton family planted each Arbor Day, and the community/memorial tree plantings throughout the years up to 2025. Eight State Champion Trees are located within the property. Arbor Lodge State Historical Park is also home to a unique collection of over 148 varieties of lilacs. We have the nation’s 5th largest public collection for the total number of cultivars, and the 10th largest public collection for total number of specimens. Check the Arbor Day Farm website for information on guided lilac tours.
