About the event

A Ribbon Cutting to celebrate the start of Nebraska City's Story: A Commemorative Mural will be held on Monday, June 15, at 11 a.m. at the site of the project at the northeast corner of 11th Street and Central Avenue. The public is invited to attend the ribbon cutting, hosted by Arbor Bank.


Nebraska City’s Story was designed and will be painted by Katie Dia, an NCHS graduate and current Bachelor of Fine Arts student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. It is funded by a grant from the Paul, John, Anton, & Doris Wirth Foundation of Nebraska City. The mural will be located on the west side of the building at 1024 Central Avenue, on the northeast corner of the intersection of 11th Street & Central Avenue. The location was secured with the help of the James Vollman family. Work will take place Monday-Friday, June 15-24. Dia said she is open to…
